LARKANA, Sept 4: Results of the Higher Secondary Certificate part-II (class-XII) annual examination 2013 for pre-medical and pre-engineering groups were announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Larkana on Wednesday.

Mohammad Ruman Uppal of Wapda Degree College Guddu and Murk Sariyo of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Ratodero stood first with 974 marks out of 1,100 marks in the pre-engineering group while Uroosa Tareen Pathan of Government Girls College Shikarpur stood first with 974 marks out of 1,100 marks in the pre-medical group.

The trend in the result depicted that majority of the students were inclined towards medicine as 13,391 sat pre-medical exams while only 9,480 candidates appeared in the pre-engineering exams.

Pre-engineering group

Among the male students, Jahanzeb Shaikh of Cadet College Larkana stood second with 973 marks and Mohammad Taha Ghaffari of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology Larkana stood third with 971 marks.

Mubashira Syed from Global Science College Larkana stood second with 973 marks and Sana Faryal Balouch of Government Girls College Larkana stood third with 964 marks among female students.

According to the statistical data of the result published in the gazette, 9,480 candidates appeared in the pre-engineering group exams out of which 637 passed in grade A-1; 1,093 passed in grade A; 3,037 passed in grade B; 2,337 passed in grade C and 337 passed in grade D.

The number of students who passed was 7,441 that amounted to 78.5pc and the number of students who failed was 1,620.

Meanwhile, the announcement stated that the result of 368 candidates was withheld for cheating during exams.

Pre-medical group result

Among the male students, Bilal Ahmed Shaikh of Public School Larkana came second with 970 marks and Muhammed Zeeshan Dayo of Hira School and College Kashmore came third with 969 marks.

Sharia Ali Shaikh student of Strathmore School System Larkana came second with 973 marks and Sindhu Motanpota of Govt Girls College Shahdadkot came third with 972 marks among female students.

Some 13,391 candidates appeared in the pre-medical group exams out of which 855 passed in grade A-1; 1,547 passed in grade A; 4,820 passed in grade B; 3,680 passed in grade C and 420 passed in grade D.

The number of students who passed was 11,322 that amounted to 84.5pc while the result of 536 candidates was withheld for cheating during exams.
