SKARDU, Sept 4: A judicial commission should be formed in Gilgit-Baltistan to proceed against those who violate merit and involve in corruption in government organisations.
This was demanded by Engineer Manzoor Parwana, chairman of Gilgit-Baltistan United Movement, in a statement here on Wednesday.
He said that if solid steps were not taken against corruption and violation of merit the government departments in GB would be destroyed. “What a pity that people are forced to give respect and protocol to corrupt persons who are defaming our society,” he said.
He said accountability of corrupt government officials was a must to save government organisations.
Mr Parwana said that it was ironical that those indulged in corruption and bribery were being encouraged.
He said that 3,000 teachers had been appointed on political basis in the region in violation of merit. —Correspondent
