ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadeer on Thursday called on Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Ishaq Dar and discussed the economic situation in Pakistan.
During the meeting the two also discussed the steps taken by the government to stabilize the economy.
Senator Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close amicable relations, which are strengthened by the bonds of religion, culture and history.
He stated that the government's economic measures have reaped rewards in July 2013, adding that the conclusion of a programme with IMF alongside these have eased the fears of International Financial Institutions, who are now approaching Pakistan to do business because of the improved perception.
Dr. Al-Ghadeer was confident that the priority and focus attached to the economy by the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will soon start bearing fruit, said a statement.
He informed the finance minister that a delegation of Saudi Development Fund would soon be visiting Pakistan in order to discuss further economic cooperation and assistance for projects in the country.
The Saudi Ambassador assured Dar that “we stand by you, as you strive to revive the economy of Pakistan."
