KARACHI, Sept 27: Punjab overcame Sindh 2-1 in a thrilling final to lift the National Men’s Throwball Championship at the University of Karachi’s Directorate Physical Education sports hostel ground here on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Punjab confirmed their presence in the final of the event after beating Balochistan 2-1 while Sindh advanced to the final after beating Pakistan Police by the same margin.

Balochistan team won the third place play-off defeating Police 2-1.

Retired Air Commodore Gulzar Ahmed Janjua and retired Capt Mohammad Tahir Naveed, President, Pakistan Throwball Federation (PTF) were the chief guests at the closing ceremony and disturbed the trophies among winners, runners-up and third position teams.

Meanwhile, PTF would also be organising a one-day National Beach Men’s Throwball Championship here at the Sea View today. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Commissioner Karachi has consented to be the chief guest on the occasion.—PPI
