PANJGUR: At least three security forces’ personnel were killed and two others injured during a clash with miscreants in the Panjgur area of Balochistan on Saturday, DawnNews reported.

Khan Wasey, the FC Spokesman, said militants attacked a security forces' vehicle which was on routine patrol in the Paroom area of Panjgur district in Balochistan. Subsequently, three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed and two others were left wounded. Moreover, six assailants were killed during retaliatory firing. "Both sides used heavy weapons during the armed clash," Wasey added.

Moreover, security men also recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the militants' possession.

The injured FC persons were shifted to the Panjgur District Hospital.

Panjgur is considered one of the most sensitive districts of Balochistan. Militants have been attacking security forces and national installations in the area for more than seven years.

In a separate incident, FC personnel and police conducted a joint targeted operation in Gwadar and detained 11 suspects. According to security sources, four suspects were wanted in criminal activities and seven were illegal travellers to Europe via the route in Iran.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed during a landmine explosion in Dera Bugti. The woman, wife of a farmer, stepped on a landmine laid in the field while working, which exploded. She was taken to the Dera Bugti Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
