KARACHI, Oct 4: A cloth merchant was shot dead and his son wounded in a suspected targeted attack on Shahra-i-Quaideen near Allahwali traffic intersection on Friday evening.

Police said Azhar Abbas, 50, and his son, Aun Ali, 28, were going home by a rickshaw after closing their shop at Tariq Road when two gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted them, fired at them and fled, leaving them in injured.

They were taken to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre where Mr Abbas was pronounced dead.

ASP Akhter Farooq suspected it was a targeted attack as the assailants had not tried to loot the two men.
