LAHORE, Oct 7: A PML-N MNA Sohail Shaukat Butt was granted confirmed bail in three murder cases by as many additional district and sessions courts here on Monday.

Gujjarpura, Batapur and Baghbanpura police had booked the parliamentarian on charges of abetment in murder of Tariq Muawya, Mushtaq Ghurki and Baber Butt Lakhodayria’s father.

He had already obtained interim bails in the cases but the courts issued non-bailable arrest warrants for him for not attending the proceedings.

On Monday, the accused MNA made his appearance before all the three courts and sought bail in the cases. His counsel told the courts that his client had gone to England and the court’s notices were not served on him. He requested the courts to withdraw the arrest warrants and confirm the bail earlier granted to the accused.

The courts admitted the arguments and confirmed bail of the MNA in all three cases with directions to appear on Oct 21.
