THE Stage School Series offer stories that all school goers can relate to because they deal with different situations that a girl, Olivia, faces at school and also within her family life that makes her learn things though many experiences, some good ones and some bad ones. And Olivia’s experiences are rather more interesting because she is not in a regular school (and no, not in a school of wizardry like Harry Potter) but a performing arts school. And her main interest or the love of her life is circus.

She is a high wire walker, something she learnt when she lived with her father who works in the circus. Olivia was enjoying her life there until she was sent to her grandmother’s school with her little sister Eel. There she finds everything strange and sometimes hostile, because she feels she is a misfit there. Katie, a rich spoilt girl who wants to be the most popular girl at school, is also out to make sure Olivia keeps getting into trouble. Reserved and intelligent, Olivia doesn’t care about this as long as she can secretly practice high wire walking during her free hours.

It is after Tom becomes friends with Olivia that Katie decides that she has to make sure Olivia gets into such a big trouble that not even her grandmother, Miss Swan, cannot save her. Sure enough, Olivia gets into trouble but she, literarily, walks herself out of that mess.

Let us leave the rest of the story for you to read for yourself because you are sure to enjoy reading this book which is a great read for 10 to 14 year olds.
