Guru Ram Das was the fourth of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism. Born in Lahore in 1574 and is the Guru who is credited with establishing the city of Amritsar. He designed the Harmandir Sahib, more commonly known as the Golden Temple. His birth anniversary is celebrated by members of the Sikh faith and most fervently in the city which he established.
