KOHAT, Oct 11: Commissioner Kohat division Jamaluddin Shah has asked the civil administration and security agencies to enhance security of Kohat prison and sensitive installations.

He was chairing a meeting to review the security of Kohat jail and other sensitive installations in Kohat division here the other day. DIG Kohat Ishtiaq Marwat, deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan, political agent of Orakzai Agency, superintendent of Kohat jail and concerned quarters of the security agencies attended the meeting.

The participants discussed the overall law and order situation in Kohat division and made certain decisions to ensure foolproof security to people and government installations.

The commissioner emphasised the need for close coordination, better intelligence sharing and joint efforts for ensuring peace and security of government installations.

He asked the police high-ups to deploy personnel at the vacant buildings of schools, hospitals and other government institutions during the Eid holidays keeping in view the critical situation.

Mr Marwat said that the regional police offices should be given access to the computerised data of all citizens, particularly Afghan refugees. He said that he would also talk to the quarters concerned in this regard as maintenance of law and order was his first priority.

He said that details of Afghan refugees who had bought property in Kohat division should also be provided to the administration and police.

He asked the vigilance committees to keep close liaison with SHOs concerned so that the security agencies could initiate steps for ensuring peace in the region.

ARRESTED: The Mohammadzai police arrested three alleged outlaws and seized weapons during a raid on a house here the other day. The cantonment police raided a house in Mohammadzai area following a tip-off that some criminals were present there. The police recovered two anti-aircraft guns, two sub-machine guns, one rifle and two pistols besides ammunition. Those arrested were identified as Asif, Asad and Riaz.
