Nadia Gabol leaves MQM to join PPP

KARACHI: Former Sindh Assembly member and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Nadia Gabol has announced her decision to join the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), DawnNews reported.

Gabol had announced her decsion at a press conference in Karachi. Sindh Minister for Local Government Owais Muzzafar was present along side her during the press conference.

She is the daughter of Sardar Abdul Latif Gabol and niece of Nabil Gabol who joined the MQM after parting ways with the PPP. Nadia Gabol had joined the MQM in 2006 after having met with its leader Altaf Hussain in London.

Gabol said that she decided to leave the MQM after having developed differences with the party.

The main issue of contention, according to Gabol, was over Lyari and the operation that was conducted there in which a number of people were killed.
