LAHORE, Oct 29: The National Women’s Hockey Championship will be held at the Hockey Club of Pakistan in Karachi in January 2014.

This was decided at the 16th meeting of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) women’s wing which met in Karachi the other day, and presided over by chairperson of the Council Khushbakht Shujaat.

“All affiliated units of the women’s wing will take part in the premier hockey activity,” a spokesperson of the wing said.

The meeting was also attended by secretary women’s wing Tanzeela Aamir Cheema along with the wing’s members namely Parveen Sikandar Gill, Prof. Abida Tanvir, Tasneem Siddiqui, Shagufta Liaquat Randhawa and Najma Bhatti.

The house also congratulated Beenish Hayat for being the first ever lady umpire Pakistan to come on the FIH panel of international umpires.—Sports Reporter
