QUETTA, Oct 31: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court described the police report in the kidnapping case of Nawab Arbab Zahir Kasi, chief of the Kasi tribe, as unsatisfactory and ordered top officials of police and other departments concerned to take appropriate measures to ensure safety of people.
The bench comprising acting Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Kamran Khan Mulakhel while hearing a constitutional petition filed by Arbab Farooq Kasi on Thursday reprimanded police officials that people were being kidnapped in broad daylight, but law-enforcement personnel were taking no action to stop the practice.
The court said that because of growing incidents of kidnapping for ransom scores of doctors, teachers and businessmen had moved to other cities and if this menace was not checked then lawyers and other educated sections of society would also leave the city.
City Capital Police Officer Razzak Cheema said that some facts could not be disclosed in the open. The court then summoned him to come to judges’ chamber. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till next week.
