Korangi becomes new Karachi district; notification issued

KARACHI: The metropolitan city has been divided into six districts with the addition of Korangi district, according to a notification issued here on Tuesday.

The official notification issued by the Board of Revenue stated that Korangi has been made a new district.

Karachi previously consisted of five districts which included South, West, East, Central, Malir and now Korangi district has been added to it.

Prior to the notification, the Korangi area was a part of the East district.

The notification said that Shah Faisal Colony, Model Colony, Korangi and Landhi areas would fall in the limits of Korangi district.

The decision was taken by the Sindh provincial government last week.
