PESHAWAR, Nov 12: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to construct 100 girls’ hostels in Chitral to promote women education.

An official at elementary and secondary education department here told this agency that the hostels would be constructed at Bumburate valley.

The government, he said, also planned to construct women business centres and hostels for working women in Chitral.

He said women were the backbone of the society and taking full advantage of their potential could pave the way for progress and prosperity of the nation.

The official said record development projects were being completed in Chitral on the identification of local communities, which would bring prosperity to the district.

The official said the government would construct a new block consisting of 30 rooms at government higher secondary school No1, Peshawar City.

He said these local funded projects had been included in the Annual Development Programme 2013-14.—APP
