Gang related violence kills three, wounds as many in Lyari

KARACHI: At least three people were killed and three others wounded asa result of gun-firing in Lyari area of Karachi whereas Rangers claimed arresting 12 suspects including an alleged important activist of the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan DawnNews reported.

An exchange of gunfire took place between rival gangs near Aath Chowk in Lyari area of the Karachi as a result of which three persons were killed as as many were injured.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital.

Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident whereas markets and business closed down in the locality.

On the other hand, Rangers personnel conducted various targeted raids in Landhi, New Karachi, Old Sabzimandi, Mauripur and Gulistan-i-Jauhar areas of the city.

At least 12 suspects were taken into custody during the operations, including an allegedly important member of the TTP.

Rangers personnel also claimed to have recovered a number of weapons and drugs from the arrested persons.
