RAWALPINDI: A shed has been constructed for patients’ attendants at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital emergency department through funds donated by Amir Khan, a British boxer.

Mr Khan on Sunday formally opened the facility to the public.

Without the facility, the attendants had to spend the nights in the winter under the open sky. The issue was brought to the notice of Mr Khan through his relatives after which he donated the funds for the project.

Dr Janjua said 15 benches had been installed in the 150-foot shed. Mr Khan donated Rs600,000 for the project and assured the hospital management of arranging more funds for other missing facilities, he added.
