ISLAMABAD: The government will discourage the previous governments’ alleged policy of arming any particular party or faction in Balochistan in the name of security and such groups created in the past would be disarmed.
This was decided at a meeting held here on Friday between Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch. The meeting was also attended by National Party Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo.Chaudhry Nisar assured the chief minister that the Centre would provide all resources to the Balochistan government to improve law and order, speed up development and ensure an environment of peace and reconciliation in the province.
Both Chaudhry Nisar and Dr Malik expressed satisfaction over the peaceful holding of local government elections in Balochistan and regarded it a good omen for the political future of the province.
They agreed that the process of political dialogue, reconciliation and building consensus on contentious issues would continue.
The two commended the role of security agencies and police in getting the law and order situation in the province improved.—APP
