NEW DELHI: The leader of a new political party that pledged to uproot corruption from Indian politics has been sworn in as the chief minister of India's capital.
Aam Aadmi, or Common Man's Party, won 28 of Delhi's 70 assembly seats in elections held earlier this month. It paved the way for its leader Arvind Kejriwal to take office Saturday.
The party is being supported by the Congress Party, which had ruled Delhi for three terms.
Kejriwal is a former civil servant and anti-corruption crusader who campaigned to rid the Delhi government of graft and inefficiency.
Tens of thousands of people crowded a major park in central Delhi to witness Kejriwal and six other ministers take over the reins of the capital city.

Why can't young, educated people in Pakistan come together and start AAM ADAMI PARTY there on similar lines.

I am proud of India - a common man with no political background, no mentor and no resources could make it to Chief Ministership of Delhi.

Historic day for Indian democracy. For the first time I am getting feeling that 'aam aadmi' of india is being empowered in true sense. Arvind Kejriwal is symbol of rise of common man. AAP has rewritten the grammar of politics in Delhi. I want him to successed because his failure will be great setback for people's hope. Best of Luck AK....!!!

***** Bye-Bye to Crimes in Delhi *****
** Kejriwal has NO DISCRIMINATION against any Religion, Caste or Language.
** His ONLY Enemy is Crime.
** Delhi will become the most PEACEFUL City of the World.
** Although, It can NEVER become like A Piece-of-Heaven. But, it will be Better than all Islamic Cities.
We wish some Leadership like this, can also be found in Pakistan and selected by Pakistani People.

Endemic corruption is an integral part of Indian economy -- it wont go away instead it will finish off Mr.Kejriwal's ONE ISSUE career in Delhi.

Another face of politics. Residents of Delhi should not hold their breath. He is not going to be any different from his predecessors.

However cynical one might be, for corruption works for us the opinion makers-givers, on platforms as such, Kejriwal I fear has Gandhian-Michaevillian element in him. I hope a fear that he will turn the world upside down. There will be a new morning, but the fake I am, want to wake up on that morning rather than go through the terrible night before it. I might be broken by then but I am pretty sure Kejriwal wont.

We are possibly witnessing history in the making. What the people have achieved in Delhi can be compared to a Gandhian Bolshevik revolution or the storming of the Bastille. It has created such a wave all over the country that the conventional corrupt cynical politicians must be shivering in their pants. Seeing Kejriwal, I can now visualise what Mahatma Gandhi must have looked like when he landed in India from South Africa. I hope Indians will not let go this historical opportunity to liberate India from corrupt divisive politicians so that we can take our rightful place in the comity of progressive enlightened developed nations.
