HYDERABAD: Sindh, Punjab, Army and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) outplayed their opponents to enter the semi-finals of the 12th National Women Netball Championship which commenced here at Hyderabad Club on Monday.

The event is being organised by the Sindh Netball Association and the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) in collaboration with the Sindh Sports Board and Sports Department, Sindh.

Amir Shafiq, secretary of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad was the chief guest at the opening ceremony and declared the championship open by putting the ball in the netball ring.

PNF chairman Abdul Razzak Arain, secretary, SOA and PNF Mudassar Arain, DSO Hyderabad Irshad Makhdoom, Hussain Imam, Shahida Shaikh and Tariq Khan were also present on the occasion.

Results:

Punjab beat HEC 16-12; Army beat Sindh 20-17; Balochistan beat Fata 1-0; HEC beat Balochistan 22-1; Sindh beat Islamabad 32-5; Army beat KP 1-0; Punjab beat Fata 1-0.—Agencies
