RAWALPINDI: A local Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader, along with twenty other demonstrators, were booked by the Airport police for damaging public property and blocking traffic on Airport Road on Sunday.

Police said almost 100 demonstrators, led by PTI leader Azra Noreen, appeared at Rehmatabad Bridge and staged a protest against gas loadshedding and high prices of daily commodities.

They shouted slogans against the government, set tyres on fire, and blocked the traffic, police said, adding that protesters also hurled stones at vehicles which caused damage to a passenger wagon and two cars.

Later, the police dispersed the demonstrators and cleared the road. They booked the PTI leader, but no arrests have been made so far.
