KARACHI: At least 29 people were arrested Tuesday during a targeted operation conducted by Rangers’ personnel in different parts of Karachi, DawnNews reported.
According to a Rangers’ spokesman, one of the arrested suspects included a target killer from a political party.
Moreover, arms and weapons were also recovered from the arrested suspects, including an automatic gun, the spokesman added.
Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism. Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
