MULTAN: Funeral prayers of Musadiq Sanwal, the editor of Dawn.com, were offered here on Saturday.
A large number of family members and friends attended the prayers at a private school near a stadium on the Vehari road. Mr Sanwal was laid to rest in the Bibi Paak Daman Graveyard.
Recalling the memories of the days he spent with Musadiq Sanwal, prominent Seraiki poet Riffat Abbas said the late journalist was born in Dera Ghazi Khan but shifted to Multan’s Writers’ Colony along with his family during his childhood. Mohammad Iqbal, Mr Sanwal’s father, was a practising homoeopath, he said. As a poet, Musadiq Sanwal’s medium of expression was Urdu but he also wrote some Seraiki songs.
He said that for some time Mr Sanwal used the pen name of Munib Afghani due to his Pakhtun background. However, he was known as Musadiq Hussain Musadiq in literary circles.
