TANK: People placed the coffin of a trader, who fell victim to alleged sectarian attack in Wazirabad locality here on Wana road on Sunday and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

The protesters belonging to Shia community brought the body of Mansoor Shah, a shopkeeper of Wazirabad area, and placed it on the busy Wana road to stage a protest sit-in against his killing. The road remained blocked for about three hours.

The protesters expressed concern over the incidents of targeted killing and demanded of the government to take steps for stopping bloodshed.

They claimed that about 20 people had been killed in sectarian clashes so far in the region.

They said that the police as usual registered the case against unknown assailants and did not take action.

They warned to continue the protest till security was provided to the Shia community and the victim families were properly compensated. Later they dispersed peacefully.
