KOHAT: The complaint cell established by Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf in the municipal administration building recently has been closed over differences between local PTI and JI leaders.

It was closed on the complaint of Jamaat-i-Islami, an ally of PTI-led provincial government, which wanted induction of its people in the cell.

Sources said that the chief minister had now ordered establishment of a new complained office run jointly by JI and PTI activists.

SHOT DEAD: Four persons were shot dead in different incidents here on Monday, police said.

Zafar Ahmed told cantonment police that after being informed by people he found body of his brother, Shakiren, lying in a dry stream.

Two accused named Talat and Akbar shot dead one Sherzada in the jurisdiction of Riaz Shaheed police station.

Separately, two minors named Fareena and Ajab Khan, children of Abdul Manan, were killed by unknown people in the limits of Riaz Shaheed police station. Police registered case and began investigation.

Meanwhile, a boy named Adil was killed after being hit by a car in KDA Town. The police impounded the car and arrested its driver.

PTI LEADER THRASHED: The Kohat tehsil president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was thrashed by people for whiling away in the office of the executive district officer education, female, after he failed to leave the office despite repeated warnings.

Ishtiaq Qureshi exchanged hot words with Mr Waqar, a supporter of advisor to the chief minister, Amjid Afridi, after he (Waqar) told him to leave the office as it was disrespect to women teachers.

Afterwards, the two PTI activists indulged in a fight also joined in by other people who beat up Mr Qureshi.

Mr Qureshi got a case registered with KDA police station against Mr Waqar.

ROBBERIES: Robbers have become active on Bannu road despite increased patrolling by the Lachi police.

The robbers on motorcycles have looted various vehicles selling brands of different companies, but police are unable to stop such strikes.

However, the police said patrolling at Sumari square, where such incidents were happening, had not been increased.

PROJECTS APPROVED: The district development committee Kohat on Monday approved 75 new projects amounting to over Rs210 million at a meeting here.

Kohat deputy commissioner Amjid Ali, who is also the chairman of the committee, was provided details of the proposed projects by district finance officer, Wahidur Rehman Khattak.

The committee approved 16 schemes in the constituency of deputy speaker of the provincial assembly, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi which would cost Rs30 million.

Twenty-five projects were approved for the constituency of advisor to the chief minister Amjid Ali Afridi at a cost of Rs33.8 million.
