Chinese communities around the world have begun to celebrate the upcoming Chinese new year, with impressive cultural displays, such as the famous lion and dragon dance performances. According to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Chinese New Year, which welcomes the year of the horse, falls on January 31 this year.
