New envoys to Iran, BD named

ISLAMABAD, June 27: Iqbal Ahmad Khan has been appointed Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran.

Mr Khan, a career diplomat, joined foreign service in 1971. Currently he has been serving as Pakistan high commissioner in Bangladesh. He has also served at Pakistani missions in Jeddah, Sana’a, Dubai, and New York. He also served as minister at the Pakistan embassy in Tehran.

Iqbal Ahmad Khan will soon reach Iran to take charge of his new appointment.

Meanwhile Manzar Shafiq has been appointed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh.

Mr Shafiq joined the foreign service in 1973, held various diplomatic assignments. Currently he has been serving as ambassador to Iraq. Manzar Shafiq will soon reach Bangladesh to take charge of his new appointment. Previously he served at missions in Moscow, Hong Kong, Manila, Kuwait and Bonn.
