KARACHI: The Sindh ranking tennis championship for Union Club trophy commenced at the club’s premises on Friday.

According to the draws, the event has received poor response as all categories have a draw of eight players apiece.

The events that are taking place include men’s singles, ladies singles, juniors under-17 singles, under-15 and under 13 singles.

Results:

Men’s singles:

Qualifying round: Saqib Nawaz bt Faraz 8-0.

First round: Fahim Ramzan bt Aqeel Shabbir 6-2, 6-3.

Juniors’ under-17 singles:

First round: Hania Naveed bt Taha Hasan 6-2, 6-2; Ibrahim Iltifat bt Wania Khan 6-1, 6-3.

Saturday’s fixtures:
