LAHORE: TV and film comedy actor Munir Zarif passed away in Lahore on Tuesday. He was 75.

He is survived by three daughters and a widow.

Zarif was the eldest brother of yore years' popular film actor Munuawar Zarif.

Munir started his acting career with the Pakistan Television in early 80s and did roles in many plays. His role as Chacha Timepiece in PTV play Sona Chandi got popularity among viewers. His roles in Aalif Laila and Ainak Wala Jin were also acclaimed by viewers and critics.

He passed away in Lahore after a protracted illness. He died of a cardiac arrest while he also suffered paralysis.

He was laid to rest in Bibian Pakdaman graveyard near his McLeod Road residence. Qul will be held on Wednesday (today).
