KARACHI: Top seed Mohammad Raza Sawani survived a scare from second seed Hasan Farooq in a three-set duel before claiming the under-15 singles title in the Sindh ranking tennis for Union Club trophy at their court on Tuesday.

Sawani, who won the opener 6-1, came under stiff opposition from his opponent squandering the lead by losing the next 4-6. The former went on to win the decisive set on extended tie breaker 11-9.

He is drawn to meet Ibrahim Iltifat in the juniors’ under-17 final on Wednesday. The latter removed Ebad Sarwar 6-1, 6-3 in the second semi-final on Tuesday.

Semi-finals: Hania Naveed bt Urooj Iltifat 6-1, 6-3.

Juniors’ under-17 singles:

Semi-final: Ibrahim Iltifat bt Ebad Sarwar 6-1, 6-3.

Men’s singles:

Semi-final: Ameer Hamza bt Imran Akram (walkover).

Final: Fahim Ramzan bt Ameer Hamza 6-4, 6-2.

Under-15 singles:

Final: Mohammad Raza Sawani bt Hasan Farooq 6- 1, 4-6, 11-9.
