SWABI: Anti-car-lifting cell (ACLC) on Friday arrested eight people along with stolen vehicles, said the police.

An official said that an ACLC team started checking vehicles near Attam police post on Swabi-Mardan road. It recovered cars, passenger coaches and pick-ups, which were snatched from their owners and their documents tampered.

The arrested people were identified as Abdul Wahab of Maneri, Mohammad Hayat of Dagai, Sajjid Khan of Gari Kapura, Mardan, Alam Zeb of Karnal Sher Kili, Izhar Hussain of Mohib Banda, Rahim Khan of Bajaur, Bazeer Khan of Managi and Safur Rehman of Jaganat region.

The official said that the vehicles were picked by car-lifters from different regions, adding that the ACLC would continue checking of vehicles in the district. —Correspondent
