QUETTA: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings here on Monday to express sympathy with the families of those who were killed in a gun and bomb attack in Islamabad on Monday.

The Balochistan Bar Association, Balochistan Bar Council and Balochistan High Court Bar Association condemned the incident and said the boycott would continue on Tuesday.

As soon as the news of the incident reached the legal fraternity here, lawyers decided to keep away from the proceedings in the high court, sessions and civil courts, ATC and courts of judicial magistrates.

The associations called upon the government to provide security to lawyers, especially inside the courts, throughout the country.
