KARACHI: Larkana made a winning start in the triangular one-day cup when they inflicted a crushing eight-wicket defeat on Fata at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Fresh from their victory in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II cricket tournament against the opponents on Sunday, Larkana made light work of their 188-run target as they won with as many as 108 deliveries to spare.

Zafar Ali led chase with 85, while Ayaz Jamali remained unbeaten with 40.

Earlier after being asked to bat first, Fata were dismissed for 187 in the last over of their innings with Asad Afridi scoring 64 and Mohammad Naeem 48.

Larkana skipper Zahid Mahmood claimed three wickets for 45 runs with his leg-spinners.

Larkana will take the field on Thursday when they face Dera Murad Jamali in the three-day Quaid Trophy fixture at the same venue.
