Traffic accident in Rawalpindi kills one

RAWALPINDI: One person was killed and 18 others injured in a traffic accident on GT Road in Rawalpindi on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

The accident occurred when two passenger vehicles collided near Rawat in Rawalpindi.

Rescue teams arrived immediately at the site of the accident and shifted the injured to the DHQ Hospital, where the condition of four wounded was reported to be critical.

Traffic accidents due to reckless driving, bad roads and poorly maintained vehicles are common in Pakistan and claim many lives annually.
