KARACHI: Survey has begun for the establishment of a Hill Park in the Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS).
The project has already been approved by the governing body of the Karachi Development Authority. The detailed survey which is in progress now is being carried out by a KDA team.
The park will cover an area of 60 acres which has been reserved. The demarcation of lanes in the park area is also being carried out by the KDA team. The salient features of the park will be hanging gardens, open air theatre, a small shopping centre and amusement parks.
The park will provide panoramic view of the sprawling City of Karachi. This is one of the major beautification projects launched by the KDA.
The Commissioner of Karachi Mr Roedad Khan, who is also the KDA chairman, is understood to have issued instructions for the speedy execution of this ambitious project to meet the growing demand of public parks in the City.
Steps were also being taken for another park — at Clifton — which would cover an area of 100 acres.
