SWABI: District police claimed on Monday to have arrested two outlaws who were wanted in murder of various policemen and other law enforcement agencies personnel.

Police sources told Dawn that the target killers were picked up by a raiding party on a tip-off in the jurisdiction of Parmuli police station. They said that the arrested outlaws were shifted to an undisclosed location.The sources said that the names of the arrested criminals could not be disclosed at this stage because the investigations were in the preliminary stage and that the police wanted to reach their other accomplices.

SHOPS LOOTED: Unidentified robbers looted three shops after tying up the watchman in the jurisdiction of Topi city police station.

This was the second incident of its kind in the city police station jurisdiction within two months, but no one has been arrested so far. The shopkeepers said sniper dogs would be used to trace the robbers.

JOURNALISTS MEET DC: Local journalists on Monday met deputy commissioner Kamran Afridi, and discussed with him the issue of the Swabi Press Club building. President of Abaseen Union of Journalists Haji Wali Mohammad, president of Gandhara Union of Journalists Mohammad Farooq, president of Swabi Union of Journalists Arif Shah and president of district union of journalists Ihsanul Haq Bamkhelvi were part of the delegation.

Mr Afridi assured the journalists that the press club building, which had already been completed, would be handed over to them soon.
