Less than 16pc students pass KU BCom exams

KARACHI: The University of Karachi on Saturday announced the results of BCom both parts (regular) annual examination 2013.

The first and second positions were bagged by female students, a university statement announced.

According to the examinations department, a total of 25,455 students were registered for the examinations and out of them 24,409 appeared in it.

A total of 787 students passed in first division; 3,089 in second division and six in third division.

However, 20,527 students failed and the pass percentage remained 15.9.

According to the examinations department, Ayesha Masood, daughter of Masood Ahmad Khan (seat number 431293) and student of the Government Premier College for Girls secured 868 marks out of 1,100 and got first position.

Farhina Rashid, daughter of Khawaja Mohammed Rashid (seat number 433432) and student of the Government College of Commerce and Economics secured second potion with 866 marks.

Nadir Malkani, son of Ameer Bukhsh Malkani (seat number 427038) of Institute of Business Education obtained third position with 855 marks.
