QUETTA: A delegation from Oman visited Gwadar on Monday on the invitation of Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.

The delegation, which was received by the chief minister and senior officials, assured them of extending financial cooperation for completion of the Oman Grant Development Project in Gwadar.

Giving a briefing to the visitors, Planning Secretary Zulfiqar Durrani said Oman’s Sultan Qaboos had announced a $100 million grant for development projects in Pakistan, of which $22m was yet to be released.

He said the grant was meant for road, irrigation, health and other projects in Gwadar and other areas.

The delegation was also given a briefing on the Gwadar International Airport project.

The visiting delegation included the Omani Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Chief Economist Yahya Abdul Rehman Al Aarimi, Ambassador to Pakistan Yousuf Ahmed Al Raeisi and others.
