KARACHI: A shopkeeper was shot dead in a sectarian attack while his employee was wounded in Rizvia Society on Thursday, police said.

They added that Syed Sadiq Hussain, 55, along with his employee, Mohammed Ali, 32, was sitting at his “Hassan electric and hardware shop” in Nazimabad No1 when two gunmen riding a motorcycle and wearing surgical masks attacked them at around 11.30am. The wounded were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Sadiq succumbed to his wounds during treatment.

The victim was Shia and the incident might be an outcome of sectarianism, said Rizvia Society SHO Mazhar Iqbal.
