Hamid Mir is an irresponsible, highly biased journalist who is a disgrace to his profession and GEO as a network places ratings and enhanced revenues generation ahead of every other consideration. It is high time that it is recognized that freedom of press doesn't mean a license to engage in anti-state activities, coddling terrorists and traitors and distorting the record of government agencies which are safeguarding the country.

it indeed the right to raise the voice and bring the concerns to the governmental level Folks...A lot of journalism wants to have what they call objectivity without them having a commitment to pursuing the truth, but that doesn't work. Objectivity requires belief in and a commitment toward pursuing the truth - having an object outside of our personal point
of views.. it is time that for journalism to be investigative,to explore the truth, to boldly go where no journalism has gone before Everything what we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

Real freedom of speech is there, when you are free to speak even non-sense.

Long live Hamid Mir. He has made me proud. I am not his fan but has watched his presentation in Washington press club and his some of the programs in Pakistan. I think he is un-biased die hard Pakistani and want to see Pakistan a " land of law for all " like many Pakistanis. I was in Pakistan during the 40th anniversary of fall of Dhaka and I saw some programs segment by many anchors and they opened my eyes. They all spoke Hamid Mir's language. How come we as a nation has never debated the role of army in E. Pakistan. Hamid Mir is true soldier of freedom. Yes he is a human being and could be flawed but not a foreign agent. One can spot a foreign agent by looking his or her action and speech. Certainly Hamid Mir is not on of them. I pray to God Almighty that justice will be rendered to Hamid Mir.

Journalists in Pakistan now should seek opportunities in acting. They all have created one hell of a drama showing like they give a damn, but in reality these are only behind the camera workers or labour class journalists showing their support to either get a job at Geo or something.

Just love the way the defenders crawl out of the woodwork (of the ones-who-shall-not-be named or owsnbn). If a majority of you had defended civilians and democracy in the earnest way you do the owsnbn, maybe you would not be in the mess that you are in today and will be for a long time to come. Foreign policy, diplomacy should all be best left to the purview of civilians whatever mistakes that they do, else keep hurtling from one tragedy to another endlessly.

Why not a single international organisation of journalists, like Reporters Without Borders ,has issued a statement, condemning the attack? A free media is the foundation of any democracy. Now,the democracy is taking roots in Pakistan, this attack ,and the attacks on the journalists of Express Tribune, are serious matters. It makes the profession of being a journalist,a dangerous one.
