Nisar condemns accusations against defence institutions

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed grave concern over allegations against national defence institutions following an attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir in Karachi.
"National institutions are being attacked and accused without any evidence which is registrable," Nisar said in a statement issued from the Interior Ministry in Islamabad.
"The way our defence institutions are being criticised, there is no such example in the world," he commented.
The interior minister said whatever specific circles propagated against the country's institutions, it has been further disseminated by the nation's enemies to the world.
"Such criticism is regrettable, as our defence institutions are rendering sacrifices for the motherland," he said.
"When the government has constituted a three member judicial commission, than such accusations have no meaning and justification," the minister commented.
He said the attack on Hamid Mir is a tragic incident not only for his family but also for the nation and it is strongly condemned.

PM Nawaz Sharif and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif did not expressed any concern over allegations against the ISI and it's Chief following an attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir in Karachi.
Only a few days ago the ISI was declared worlds top intelligence agency, well above Mossad, KGB and RAW. A really stupid attempt was made to degrade the institution.

But the question is why Geo is launching allegations against the ISI, what proof they have,and why the ISI has any enmity with Mr Hamid Mir in particular, there were other journalist who met tragedies, and a lot of them lost their lives too.

The Minister of Interior is correct in his concern and rogue journalists who play into the hands of the enemies of the State must be held accountable. Journalist must be honest, ethical & morally upright.

Journalists are being attacked and victimized - the government must defend and protect them, not cry about being criticized.

Very good statement from Ch. Nisar. Really applaud it. This culture of "fabricated" accusations, and "baseless" finger pointing and especially on the most sensitive institution of a country is not good. Not seen in any country.
I think it is absolutely necessary to bring, anyone accusing blindly without any proof, to justice. Bring them to court and let them prove it.
