ISLAMABAD: An officer and at least two soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in the troubled tribal areas on Sunday evening.

According to a brief statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations, three other security personnel suffered injuries in the attack.

The security personnel were hit by an improvised explosive device planted on a road in a border area between North and South Waziristan.

The statement did not provide any further details about the incident or the names of personnel killed and injured.

No-one claimed responsibility for the attack till late night.

The latest incident comes almost two weeks after the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan formally ended a ceasefire called to promote peace talks, adds AFP.
