MIRAMSHAH: Heavy rain in Dattakhel and Miramshah tehsils of North Waziristan Agency swept away several houses, household items and cattle heads on Sunday.

The heavy downpour coupled with windstorm started on Saturday and continued on Sunday.

Floodwater in nullahs washed away several houses in Muhammadkhel, Land Muhammadkhel, Hamzoni and Paikhel areas of Dattakhel tehsil. Residents said gushing rainwater also washed away household items and dozens of pet animals.

Heavy rain and lightning also damaged several dish receivers in Miramshah, local residents said, adding several people also suffered injuries. The residents said that heavy rain and windstorm also damaged orchards and standing crops in different areas.
