KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has reshuffled some portfolios of his cabinet members which was thought to be overdue after bringing the Muttahida Qaumi Movement from the opposition to the treasury benches last month.

In the wake of the expansion of the cabinet, the portfolios of Auqaf and Sports were taken back from special assistant to the chief minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar and Abdul Haseeb of MQM was made new special assistant on Auqaf to the chief minister.

A notification issued by the chief secretary on Tuesday announced that Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah withdrew the additional portfolio of social welfare from Minister Rubina Qaimkhani who was earlier looking after it in addition to being the minister of women development and special education.

The portfolio of sports which has been taken back from Mr Lanjar is likely to go to MQM lawmaker Muhammad Adil Siddqui whose notification could be announced soon.
