LAHORE: The Home Department on Friday issued a threat warning for the planned Sunday rally of Dr Tahirul Qadri.

In a letter sent to Dr Qadri and his sons, the department said in their reports the intelligence agencies had indicated risk of some untoward incident during the rally. It said the Taliban had already issued an edict against Qadri.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Punjab government said an emergency would be imposed in all provincial hospitals on Sunday. There would be a security high alert all over the province. Rescue 1122 and other institutions would remain on high alert on the occasion of the rally.
