KHYBER Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan has constituted a high-level Fata reforms commission with the mandate to frame reforms … for the welfare of the people. The commission will … submit a detailed report to the governor and will have to supervise the process of its implementation also. The commission will be responsible for provision of all basic facilities to the people and will work for the development of different kinds of natural resources … in order to attract investors.

…[T]he people of all seven tribal regions and six frontier regions have been facing multiple problems as the facilities of education, healthcare, communication and clean drinking water are next to nil. … No doubt, it is a commendable step on part of the governor, who has recently assumed charge … and immediately took such steps for welfare of the tribal people. The people of Fata have been facing serious problems and lawlessness tops them all. The majority of the people have been affected due to displacement, war on terror, operations and internal disputes.

Now, everyone can expect that the government will take drastic steps for the uplift of the people and well-being of the tribal regions. … If the government implements its plans, the situation in Fata will certainly improve and the people will be able to resume normal lives. — (May 21)
