ABBOTTABAD: Police here have arrested three persons, two of them allegedly involved in killing of 10 members of a family in Havelian and one in murder of his two little nephews in Murree.
District police officer Mohammad Ali Gandapur told mediapersons here at his office on Friday that in the first case the Abbottabad police arrested one Nadeem who had allegedly killed his two nephews by slitting their throat over a petty family dispute.
He said that the accused had admitted to his crime during initial investigations.
Nadeem was produced in the court of judicial magistrate, who sent him on remand to Abbottabad jail.
The incident occurred on April 14 in Murree where Nadeem had allegedly slit the throat of his nephews Qadir Ali, 4, Maher Ali, 11, and Zain Ali, 9.
The suspects also include uncle of two children found dead in Murree
However, one of them Zain Ali was shifted to PIMS, Islamabad, in injured condition and survived.
Nadeem was arrested by Nara police during a raid on his house at Dabran village.
In another raid, the Havelian police arrested two main accused nominated in the FIR regarding killing of 10 members of a family in Havelian during a marriage ceremony a month ago.
Both the accused were remanded in police custody for two days by a judicial magistrate.
The DPO also said that the Abbottabad police under the directives of the provincial government had completed the registration of 6,000 people belonging to other parts of the country and staying in different localities of Abbottabad.
He said that this would help the police to maintain the record of people living on rent in the district.
DOCTORS STRIKE: The young doctors of Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Abbottabad continued their strike for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.
They have been demanding of the government to announce service structure for them.
The doctors boycotted the OPDs, operation theatres and other related duties.
As members of the Young Doctors Association the trainee medical officers and house officers in all the four teaching hospitals of the province, including ATH, are boycotting duties to press the government for acceptance of their demands, which also included provision of free medical services to all patients in government hospitals.
Most of the senior doctors, including professors and associate professors, also remained absent from duty, which increased the miseries of patients.
In a surprising move, the Peoples Doctors Forum, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a statement announced their support to the young doctors and expressed concern over the government’s failure to resolve the doctors’ problems.
The PDF meeting was chaired by its provincial president Prof Nisar. Dr Majid, president YDA at ATH, told this correspondent that they would continue their strike till acceptance of their demands.
