KARACHI: Quartet of Yasir Khan, Abdul Shakoor, Nomi Qamar and Aqeel Shabbir advanced into the men’s singles second round of the Anti-Tobacco Day Tennis Tournament here at the Karachi Club hard courts on Monday.
Top seed Yasir got a walkover against Anas Godil while former Davis Cupper Nomi blanked Abdullah Khan 6-0, 6-0. Shakoor faced some problems before chalking out a well-earned 6-3, 6-4 victory against Sheheryar Chamdia.
Aqeel was leading 4-0 in the first set against Abid Khan before the latter retired due to an injury.
