SILK Route, now Karakoram Highway, is the highest international road in the world and connects Pakistan with China. As it is a busy international road, it should be well maintained. Sadly, the road is not being maintained properly.

The road loses all its charm when it touches the boundary of Mansehra district and becomes an ordinary village road with a lot of potholes and poorly-crafted speed-brakers, causing damage to vehicles.

Even the bypass roads are in better condition than Karakoram Highway. The poor condition of the highway results in road accidents and traffic jams almost every day. The government should immediately take notice of it at the earliest and should allocate funds in their upcoming budget for the upgradation of Karakoram Highway.
