ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Zardari said on Tuesday that the arrest of MQM chief Altaf Hussain in London was a sensitive matter because he was the leader of a mainstream political party.

In a statement issued here, the PPP co-chairman said complete justice for Mr Hussain should be ensured.

“The United Kingdom is known for its rule of law as well as its traditions of protecting human rights. The process needs to be carried out in a transparent manner.”

Mr Zardari expressed the hope that Mr Hussain’s fundamental rights to life, dignity and fair trial would be protected and all international laws of human rights would be observed.
